Ocean Wide - The Afters

Look outside
It's already light and the stars ran away with the night
Things we're said, words that we'll try forget,
it's so hard to admit I know we've made mistakes
I see through all the tears but that's what got us here

If love is an ocean wide
We'll swim in the tears we cry
They'll see us through to the other side
We're gonna make it
When love is a raging sea
You can hold on to me
We'll find a way tonight
Love is an ocean wide

I'll stay right here
It's where I'll always belong
Tied with your arms
Days like this, I wish the sun wouldn't set
I don't want to forget
What made us feel this way
You see through all my fears
And that's what got us here

Love is an ocean wide enough to forget
Even when we think we can't

I love this song, because it shows how big God's love for us really is. Although it is 10x the size of the ocean, it still helps put it into perspective.

Refuge: written and composed by: emilee barbour

I take refuge in you
you save and deliever
This sin I have done
this guilt on my hands
Let the assembled peoples gather
judge me, search my mind and matter
My sheild, my God most high
who saves the upright in heart
I take refuge in you
you give me strength
Lets sing praise to the Lord most high
The evil around us
is slowly rising
The assembled gather, the weak will fall
Awake O God, rise up against our enimies
The wicked return to the graves
the needy are not forgotten
Nor the hope of the afflicted ever parish
you listen to the unrighteous cry
Lift up your hands, Lift up your hands, Lift up your hands, and praise the Lord Almighty!

God's Epic Love

Have you ever really sat down, and though about God's Epic Love?
God sent His one and only son, to die for us...sinners in this world full of sin. Consumed by drugs, swearing, sex, alchohol, and ourselves. Putting aside who we really are and who we were meant to be, all because that's what the world told us. What our "friends" told us. What we chose to believe. Every single day, we turn away from our maker. We tell ourselves things to make it feel like its ok. Even though we know it's not. Yet through all the pain, and suffering, ad unforgivable things we've done, God still loves us. He still forgives us. Every time we run back to Him, he's there. Even though we feel like we've let go, He hasn't. He holds on through everything. The thick and thin. We must love Him with all of our mind, our soul. With all that we are, we must love Jesus. The Savior of the unsavable, the unforgivable. The undeserving.

A little while ago, a friend of mine was going through some tough times with their family. We got talking, and it eventually turned into a talk about God and us as Christians. They asked me one question, that if we constantly fail, are we still called to be Christians? Do we deserve it? I said yes. Because God gave us the chance to change. And even though we take it for granted every day, He still gives us that change again and again. We have chosen the life of following Him. We are His chosen ones, called to bring light into the darkness. Psalm 86: 1-10 says:

"Hear oh Lord and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life for I am devoted to you. You are my God, save your servant who trust in you. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you. Hear, my prayer O Lord, listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me. Among the gods, there is none like you, O Lord, no deeds can compare with yours. All the nations you've made will come and worship before you, O Lord. They will bring glory to your name. For you are great, and do marvelous deeds. You alone are God!
